Onderaan is een uitgebreid Engelstalig infosheet geplakt van de organisatoren in Frankfurt met allerhande handige adressen en links. Hierbij alleen nog wat laatste nieuws aan toegevoegd.

Zoals dat de Frankfurtse politie haar beveiligingsplannen bekend heeft gemaakt. Er komen twee veiligheidszones rondom de ECB. De ‘rode zone’ is verboden gebied voor iedereen behalve mensen die door de politie goedgekeurd worden om bij de ECB te zijn. (zie kaart 1). Het zal mogelijk met prikkeldraad afgeschermd worden en binnen zullen volgens de politie ook waterkanonnen gereed staan.

Daar omheen is nog een uitgebreidere veiligheidszone van een paar vierkante kilometer waar de politie naar believen op kan treden en aan kan houden of fouilleren. Ook is gemeld dat er naast helikopters ‘vliegtuigen’ in de lucht zullen zijn om informatie te verzamelen. Er zullen enkele duizenden agenten ingezet worden, ook uit andere delen van Duitsland.

De ECB heeft het openingsfeest ondertussen nog verder naar beneden geschroefd: alle medewerkers van de bank hebben opdracht gekregen op de bewuste dag thuis te blijven (en daar dan te werken, dat wel). En journalisten die bij de opening aanwezig willen zijn, hebben te kennen gekregen dat ze geen toegengspapieren krijgen. Kennelijk is slechts een select groepje eigen journalisten gewenst.

Blockupy heeft op een aantal plekken in Frankfurt zogenaamde Mahnwachen aangemeld, en vergunning gekregen om daar te manifesteren. (https://blockupy.org/18m/blockaden/) Op die plekken zijn dan ook informatietenten aanwezig (NoTroika-InfoPunkt inWilly Praml-Theater in de Naxoshallen, Danziger Platz, Paul–Arnsberg-Platz, Walther-von-Cronberg-Plat, Zeil 1 (tegenover Bürgeramt), Kaisersack bij Centraal Station)

Er wordt gerekend op tenminste 10.000 demonstranten. Uit veertig plekken komen bussen naar Frankfurt, en een speciale trein met 800 plaatsen die van Berlijn via Hamburg naar Frankfurt, rijdt, is uitverkocht. Daarom vertrekken uit die steden ook nog extra bussen.

Er zijn ook weer nieuwe oproepen. Nadat eerder (zie eerdere updates) antimilitaristen en tegenstanders van het TTIP-vrijhandelsverdrag  en feministen en queers en migratie-activisten opriepen om op de 18e naar Frankfurt te komen, kunnen we daar nu aan toevoegen: klimaatorganisaties en academici. En de tegenstanders van de uitbreiding van het vliegveld.

5 p.m.: Blockupy Mass Demonstration through the inner city of Frankfurt.:
a lively and gaudy march showing over its whole length the Blockupy colors with umbrellas, sunglasses, etc. Our consensus is: We want a march which everybody can join safely and unharmed. We start together and we end together (for the route and consensus on the march see: http://blockupy.org/en/18m/demonstration/).
The demonstration will be opened and lead by the transnational Blockupy International crowd from all over Europe, with the first rows led by  women.
The leading banner will show our motto: “Our time to act has come!” and “Change Europe – Stop Troika! BLOCKUPY”
