21 sept: Stop racisme! Stop bezuinigingen!
Op 21 september zal er een manifestatie plaatsvinden in Den Haag onder het motto: ‘Stop racisme! Stop de bezuinigingen!’ Deze dag willen wij een geluid laten horen tegen de PVV die dezelfde dag ook in Den Haag protesteert, en tegen de onacceptabele bezuinigingen die het VVD / PvdA kabinet wil doorvoeren. Het is belangrijk om in tijden van crisis te waken voor xenofobe en racistische tendensen in de samenleving. In heel Europa zijn extreem-rechtse partijen aan een opmars bezig, zoals bijvoorbeeld in Griekenland waar de fascistische partij Gouden Dageraad groot is geworden en waar racistisch geweld aan de orde van de dag is.
Het is hard nodig om tegen de bezuinigingen en uitbuiting door banken etc. in verzet te komen. Maar we moeten ons niet voor het karretje van politieke partijen laten spannen, omdat zij liever een zondebok aanwijzen dan dat ze naar het onderliggende probleem kijken.
Terwijl de bankdirecteuren zich blijven verrijken over de ruggen van mensen die het al niet breed hebben, wordt er volop bezuinigd op sociale zekerheden zoals de zorg, de AOW en het onderwijs. Bibliotheken en jeugdcentra worden gesloten omdat er zogenaamd geen geld voor zou zijn. Maar er is geld genoeg, alleen wordt dat niet eerlijk verdeeld. Dat is het probleem en daar moeten we wat aan doen!
Kom naar de manifestatie en laat je horen tegen racisme en tegen de bezuinigingen!

On September 21, a demonstration will take place in Den Haag under the motto, “Stop racism! Stop the budget cuts!” The intention of this demonstration is twofold; we want to speak out against the PVV, which
is also having a demonstration on the same day in Den Haag, and also against the unacceptable austerity plans which the VVD/PvdA cabinet wants to implement.
It is important in times of crisis to be on the lookout for xenophobia and racist tendencies in society. Throughout Europe, extreme right parties are on the rise, for example in Greece where the fascist
Golden Dawn party has grown and where racist violence is a daily occurrence.
It is necessary to resist against austerity and exploitation by banks etc., but we must not let ourselves be used by political parties because they would rather find a scapegoat than address the underlying problem.
While the bank managers get richer on the backs of people who already don’t have much, the budget for the social safety net of healthcare, pensions, and education gets cut. Libraries and youth centers have to
close their doors because there supposedly is not enough money for them. There is enough money, but it is not fairly distributed. That is the problem and we have to do something about it!
Come to the demonstration and speak up against racism and austerity!
