Wat hebben klimaatverandering, economische ongelijkheid, discriminatie en uitsluiting met elkaar gemeen? Ze worden veroorzaakt en in stand gehouden door een gedachtegoed dat economische belangen boven mens, dier en milieu stelt. Een gedachtegoed dat de eigen groep en het “eigen volk” superieur vindt. Dat parasiteert op de angsten van mensen, ongelijkheid negeert en uitbuiting goedpraat. Dit is het gedachtegoed van extreemrechts en daar moeten we tegen in opstand komen. Het is tijd voor een tegengeluid!
Het Actiefestival wil met lezingen, workshops, een documentaire screening en nog veel meer vormgeven aan het tegengeluid. Gelukkig zijn er overal ter wereld, ook in Nederland, sociale bewegingen en activisten die strijden tegen de systemen van onderdrukking die ons allen bedreigen. Zij zijn cruciaal, want de strijd tegen alle vormen van onrecht moet doorgaan. Zeker nu. Zeker nu moeten we manieren vinden om samen te werken en te strijden tegen de opmars van extreemrechts.
Vind je engagement belangrijk maar weet je niet precies wat je moet doen? Wil je in actie komen maar je weet niet hoe? Wil je sociale bewegingen steunen maar je weet niet welke, wil je je politieke woede kanaliseren of ben je geïnteresseerd in activisme? Kom dan naar Het Actiefestival!
Het Actiefonds steunt al meer dan 50 jaar sociale bewegingen en actiegroepen over de hele wereld. Op die manier dragen we bij aan de wereldwijde strijd voor verandering. Het Actiefestival is het begin van een campagne die het tegengeluid gaat versterken.
Van 20:00 tot 23:00 uur hebben we twee inspirerende sprekers (Naomie Pieter en TBA), een workshop van The Black Archives, een documentaire screening en een politiek café met drie actiegroepen.

What do climate change, economic inequality, discrimination and exclusion have in common? They are caused and maintained by a mindset that disregards the environment and the lives of people and animals. It is a mindset that legitimises nationalism and the exclusion of those who do not belong to “the authentic people”. It ignores inequality, excuses exploitation and instigates fear and anxiety. This is the mindset of the extreme right and it must be fought. It is time to raise our voices in protest!
With talks, workshops, discussions, a documentary screening and much more we will ask questions and provide answers about organising protest. Everywhere in the world, including in the Netherlands, there are social movements and activists who resist the structures of oppression that threaten us all. They are crucial, for the struggle against injustice must go on. Especially today. Especially today we must find ways to work together and stop the rise of the extreme right.

From 20:00 til 23:00 there will be two amazing speakers (Naomie Pieter and TBA) with inspiring talks, there will be a workshop by The Black Archives and a documentary screening, and lastly there will be a political cafe, with three action groups discussing strategy and politics!
